Vietnam: New Circular Regulating Fees and Charges Affecting the Medical Sector

On 28 June 2024, the Vietnam Ministry of Finance issued Circular No. 43/2024/TT-BTC prescribing fees and charges to remove further difficulties for enterprises and support production and business activities.

This circular reduces the fees and charges for some procedures from those regulated in previous guidelines. Accordingly, all fees and charges in the medical sector are provided a 30% discount from the existing government fees. This discount will be applicable from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2024. As of 1 January 2025, the discount will no longer be applicable.

Specifically, effective from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2024, the government fee for the evaluation process of registration applications will be as follows:

  • Class A: 700,000 VND (30% discount from 1,000,000 VND)
  • Class B: 2,100,000 VND (30% discount from 3,000,000 VND)
  • Class C and Class D: 4,200,000 VND (30% discount from 6,000,000 VND)
