On 13 July 2023, The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) issued a draft regulation concerning Technical Standards for Telecommunication Equipment and/or Equipment Short Distance Telecommunications Devices.
The proposed guidelines will revoke several regulations including SDPPI regulation no 161 Year 2019, the main reference in the registration of Short-Range Devices (SRD). This SRD technologies includes wireless enabled connectivity like Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC), and Radio Frequency that are being utilized in several medical devices.
Highlighted updates of Draft 2023 compared to Directorate General SDPPI Regulation No 161 Year 2021 regulation is the adjustment on the reference standard for short range devices. For instance, reference standard of Bluetooth connectivity method of test is following EN 300 440, according to new regulation, EN 300 328 is also applicable as reference standard beside of EN 300 440.
